Installing and Updating

Megan R Brett edited this page Nov 30, 2022 · 3 revisions

You should follow the general processes outlined in the Omeka S user manual to install and update the DataScribe module.

Installing

After you have installed DataScribe, check the permissions on the directory /files/assets in your Omeka S installation. This must be writable by the installation in order for exports to work.

Updating

When updating, be sure that the permissions for /files/assets still allow the system to write dataset exports.

During the upgrade process, DataScribe checks previous version numbers to determine what scripts to run. If you have been using a beta of an update, you will need to change the version number in the MyQSL database so that the update runs properly. Module version numbers are stored in the modules table of your Omeka S database; change the version to make the previous released version of the module.

If your users have problems with the media viewer or focus mode after running an update, have them clear the cache on their browser.
