Unable to scan QR Code using in-app scanner. #466
Comments
This is an Android issue and it's already tracked here signalapp/Signal-Android#4637 so you can close this issue here, thanks |
This issue shouldn't be closed! The newest upgrade has destroyed my day. Cannot relink the signal app because of the bad coded qr camera in signal. |
@ab-in Did you try any of the workarounds from the linked issue? Tapping to force it to try to focus, perhaps? Making the Signal Desktop window bigger, for a higher-resolution image of the QR code? |
Thank you for quick response. I got it on classic way but it was precision
work. I had to first switch native qr app on, find a position of the camera
and that switch to signals qr. On my phone Signal has no restrictions. But
also voice msg dosn't work. I can make one and send. But if somebody else
send me a voice msg, I ca't play it. An error appears.
I love Signal.
Huawei Mate 10 Pro Dual - is my phone.
Regards
Anna

What I had to do was open Signal then go to settings and then scan the code INTO Signal....bingo they synced up.... |
You mean open Signal on your mobile phone (iOS or Android) and then scan the code? That is the standard way to link a Signal Desktop app to your Signal app on your phone. What steps did you do before? |
sorry for the confusion...I was trying to install Signal on my desktop and in doing so it opened a window with the QR code and asked for me to scan it...it wouldn't work...BUT when I opened Signal on my phone THEN scanned my desktop....bingo |
I am unable to scan the Signal-Desktop QR code during device registration using Signal.
This is independent of the used monitor and also does not work from a printout.
I am using a Samsung Galaxy SII.
Scanning the code using Barcode Scanner (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.zxing.client.android&hl=de) works flawlessly.
Reproducibility: Always
Expected Behavior: Can scan the QR code or enter a token manually.
