As the only other known/maintained identity server implementation (to my knowledge), just wanted to give a heads up about Matrix 1.1 on the horizon.

Most of the information I'd put in this issue is duplicated on the Sydent issue tracker, so I present to you a link to that issue: matrix-org/sydent#424
