Moved from Linux to Windows Desktop, CHOWN not changing ROOT ownership

Hi all,

I'm trying to move the docker files from my linux server to my Windows desktop (significantly better hardware). I've made a copy of the files and start up the docker image, it fails and says SDTDSERVER is not the owner of /home/sdtdserver/serverfiles/*. I can do an ls -l and see that is indeed the case. It's the owner of all the files/folders in /home/sdtdserver except the serverfiles and log folders, which have root:root as the owner.

When I try running CHOWN, it appears to work without any errors but ls -l still shows root:root. Restarting confirms this with the same error. I've tried installing sudo to run with that but the same results; no change to the owner.

command being run:
chown -R sdtdserver:sdtdserver /home/sdtdserver

Any ideas what might be causing this behavior? I'd love to get it moved over without having to start the game over.

If anyone else comes across this, what I figured out to do was to start up the container and no map the volumes so it's all self-contained. While it's starting up, I copied the necessary files to the container using DOCKER CP.

Just the sdtdserver.xml file in /serverfiles and then the game saves and generated world data.
