Hi relikd It happen for all feeds. Here is the url in case : http://feeds.macrumors.com/MacRumors-Front Here is the result off :
Here another screen capture with others feeds : |
Hmm, I have not updated a machine to macOS 13 and can not reproduce it on macOS 12. I guess I have to upgrade in the next few days. 😒 Meanwhile:

Does this happen with v1.1.3 as well?
And what is the occurrence pattern? Does it happen all the time or only sporadically?
Is it broken immediatelly when you open the main menu? Or does it break if you open feed A, then open feed B, and then navigate back to feed A? Or does it happen if you have the menu open for longer than X seconds?
Do the menus recover? And if so, what do you have to do to make them re-appear?
Does it happen for all the feeds or only those with at least one unread item? If the latter, does it happen to feeds with all the items unread?
Hi
- I have not 1.1.3, so i don’t know
- it happen sporadically
- All the cases except last one (does it happen if you have the menu open for longer than X seconds?)
- The menu recover: i have to unclick the feed and then click on the menu Bar and then again on the feed and it ’s reappears
- It happen with all the feeds
- does it happen to feeds with all the items unread? : i don’t understand the question
Sorry for may bad english

You can download it here https://github.com/relikd/baRSS/releases/tag/v1.1.3
In other words: does it happen if you have a feed with 10 entries and all of those 10 entries are unread (menu shows "My-feed (10)")?
No problem at all. I have another test for you: please place some of the feeds in a group and see if that changes anything. In particular, I would like to know whether the group will open or if the group will be hidden the same way the feeds are hidden. Additionally, you can report back whether the feeds inside the group are broken the same way (I assume so). |
Hi
OK, here are the results :
- This is the same with release 1.1.3
- NO it happen not all the item unread, it is random
- for the another test i have groups on this mac and not on other and this is the same issue as u can see on 2 screen capture
This is a hard issue i think …

… I have not 1.1.3, so i don’t know
You can download it here https://github.com/relikd/baRSS/releases/tag/v1.1.3
Just quit baRSS v1.2.0 and launch v1.1.3. It will reuse the same database so no need to worry. If v1.1.3 experiences the same issues you can quit and delete v1.1.3 and keep using v1.2

I ask because in your initial question you wrote " It does not display articles all the time when there are some to read." and I wonder if this also happens for feeds with zero unread-items and feeds where all the entries are unread-items.

Unfortunately, I cannot see the screenshots. I tried to update to Ventura today but apparently my organization wont let me update yet. :/ ... I cannot give you a timeline for when I will be able to fix this problem as I don't know when I will be able to update to Ventura. I do not have another machine available for testing. |
ok I understand.
Thanks anyway
it is usable as it is despite this bug, and when you can be on Ventura I think you will find a solution. Have a good day and success !
the screen shot again in case off

Hey ho. I just released v1.2.1. It is a universal binary, maybe that helps. I tried to reproduce the issue on Ventura but could not succeed. Does the issue still occur or was it a temporary bug that got resolved with a newer macOS version? |
Hi relikd Thanks for the update but the issue still occur on Ventura 13.4 (22F66) |
now! v1.2.2 |
It is indeed a macOS bug. Somehow you cannot have a tooltip on a submenu or it will cause the issue you described. If, by any chance, you have another app which has tooltips on submenus you can test it. Hover over a menu item with tooltip until the tooltip pops up. Then move away and come back to the same item and it wont open anymore. |
It work ! |
Hello.
First of all baRSS 1.2.0 (intel) works on MacOS Ventura 13.0 with my Mac Mini M1. However, I quickly discovered a problem. It does not display articles all the time when there are some to read. To do this, just click again on its icon in the menu bar and it's ok. but it comes up often... As you can see from the screenshot, there is an unread article for MacRumors but it doesn't show up on click.
Any idea ?
