Aeon65 FAQ
Please see the Home, Windows Download Instructions and Linux Download Instructions
Mouse in Aeon is NOT SUPPORTED and probably never will. Use you keyboard, or a remote.
First of all you need to rename the folder to “skin.aeon65” Make sure that you do not have a subfolder in this. The main folder should contain all the files and folders starting with the folder named “720p”. Then you put it here:
Win7: C:/Users/"username"/AppData (hidden folder)/Roaming/XBMC/addons
Linux: ~/.xbmc/addons
Make sure you have the latest svn Build (nightly build) of XBMC 10.5 Dharma found here
Yes. The AddOn system is supported and can be accessed from the main Settings screen.
Addons no longer need to be enabled. In older versions it had to be enabled in the main menu under:
Settings → Mainmenu → Shortcuts
It would then show up as a shortcut on the main menu.
Yes, but you need to enable Addons to download it from the Add Ons repository. Unlike skins like “Confluence” you do NOT need to set the path for the Subtitles button in the OSD to the script/AddOn it works out of the box. Do remember to configure the sources for subtitles download under
AddOn → Enabled AddOns→ Subtitles → Configure AddOn
You need to install and enable the recently added AddOn.
This might be enabled by default in recent version of XBMC 10.5 Dharma.
When trying to add a custom path (personal shortcut) I get an error saying: cannot find favourits.xml
You need to download and install script.favourites download the latest version from there.
To add this you download it and choose the “Install from Zip File” option under the “Get AddOns” menu.
Then you browse to your downloaded zip.
Win7: C:/Users/"username"/AppData (hidden folder)/Roaming/XBMC/addons/skin.aeon65/extras/movie/{genre,genrefanart}
Linux: ~/.xbmc/addons/extras/movie/{genre,genrefanart}
Make sure you have the latest build of the skin, to update please see the Home, Windows Download Instructions and Linux Download Instructions
If it still doesn’t work then fill up a bug repost here makes sure to include a screenshot, the XBMC svn revision, the skin revision. If the bug only happen on a particular movie, please post the movie name, and if you are using a media manager, please include the nfo.
This is not an Aeon65 issue but a XBMC issue. DXVA2 only works under Windows 7 and Windows Vista, make sure that XBMC is not set to be run in compatibility mode for another OS. To check, right click XBMC icon, properties, compatibility, make sure that the box is not marked for compatibility. Forum thread
You can try to disable unneeded features / views (especially the background smoke trails effect).
Another way to speed things up which seems to work very well is described here
