Mountwizard on Stellarmate 1.8.2 part II

Dear all,

after your explanations I installed a local Python 3.9.19 through pyenv. Before going ahead with the install some questions:

I found the install script mentioned in the docu under archivescripts/1.1/. is that the right one?

I further found a package for stellarmate which seems to be a docker image. Is docker install also possible? Will it work with Kstars/Ekos.

Hi Peter,
please download the actual install script: https://github.com/mworion/MountWizzard4/tree/main/support/3.0
The documentation has to be rewritten as soon as I have some more time.
I never thought about docker. for MW4 it should be possible when used together with KStars or ASCOM Aplaca. You have to bear in mind to be able to access the image files if you are using a different image application which does not allow sending its image data via IP.

Hi Michael,
thanks for the quick answer. Sometimes things are easy. startup.py worked nicely and fast in my local python 3.9.19 environment. MW connects with INDI CCD Simulator and Solver of stellarmate, so everything looks good.

Hi, I found this thread, I'm trying to do the same install, but after setting up pyenv on my rPi 4 running stellarmate (latest release 1.8.2 same as the other user in this thread) I'm not succeeding with the install and can't figure out why.

Thanks, here's the relevant part, it looks like it's trying to fetch PyQt5-5.15.9-cp37-abi3-manylinux_2_17_aarch64.whl when PyQt5-5.15.9-cp38.cp39.cp310-abi3-manylinux_2_17_aarch64.whl is the version in the repo.

Yes that was it, editing startup.pyz like this:

        '3.9': [
            'PyQt5_sip-12.11.1-cp39-cp39-linux_aarch64.whl',
            'PyQt5-5.15.9-cp38.cp39.cp310-abi3-manylinux_2_17_aarch64.whl',

Gets it through that stage, and it's now proceeding with the install, I'll let you know if any other problems but looks like that might have been it.
