[Affected Versions]:

  • Firefox Reality version 11-141440032 (8fc1c13)

[Affected Platforms]:

  • Oculus Go - Android 7.1.2
  • HTC Vive Focus Plus - Android 7.1.2
  • Pico G2 4K - Android 8.1.0
  • Pico Neo2 - Android 8.1.0

[Prerequisites]:

  • The Firefox Reality browser is open.

[Steps to reproduce]:

  1. Navigate to a normal video on YouTube and enter theater/full screen mode.
  2. Scroll down and click on a link that opens in a new tab.
  3. Observe the behaviour.

[Expected results]:

  • The page is opened in a new tab correctly.

[Actual results]:

  • The UI is broken:
    • The theater controls appear and remain displayed over the url bar
    • The window size remains the same size as in theater mode.
    • The “New Tab Added” notification remains displayed.
    • After creating a new window the url bar doesn't curve and overlays the window in the corners.

[Notes]:

  • After clicking the back button from the theater controls overlaying the url bar some of the broken elements disappear.
  • Attached a screen recording of the issue here.

I have verified this issue with the latest Firefox Reality version 11-141532306 (3c70b99) installed on the Oculus Go, HTC Vive Focus Plus, Pico Neo2 and Pico G2 4K headsets.
Now, the UI is not broken after opening a link to a new tab from theater mode.
