I recently moved my gphotos-sync files to a NAS (rapberry pi 4 with USB3->SATA ironwolf HDD with NFS).

If a single photo is added it always takes 20mins to re-create all the album links on the network drive.

Therefore it would be good to have an incremental solution to album link creation.

So I fixed this issue for me by moving the execution of gphotos-sync to the storage device. I'm going to close this because its too big a change - the current mechanism is very robust if inefficient.
