Currently supported file types

The following list shows all currently supported mime types. Note that;

  1. a large number of these are defined/specified by the FACT team and do not necessarily confirm to an official naming of the containers authors.
  2. further types might be supported through our fallback carver (binwalk) or through some of our plugins while we are not aware of it.

Some of the types might seem curious. E.g. postscript while being used for text mainly is seen as container for update formats of printer firmware.
