Time to Visualize: Roll-out Prerequisites and Plan

The Time to Visualize project is nearing completion. With the depth and breadth of changes involved, it's important we frame expectations to reflect those efforts. This discussion will outline the various outstanding tasks, the prerequisites to roll-out, and the roll-out itself.

General Approach and Phases

The TTV experience is currently gated by a flag in Kibana, whose value is currently false. Our intention is to "flip the switch" for TTV in master and have a significant shake-out period in dev before a release, while also writing full functional tests against it. Therefore, it makes the most sense to flip that switch immediately after or as close to a recent branch cut as possible.

Put simply: we're currently working on 7.11. If these projects are completed prior to the 7.11 release being cut, we'll flip the switch the day following the new branch. If not, if these projects are completed soon thereafter-- "soon" being relative and up for evaluation-- we'll flip the switch in master immediately.

The following tasks are currently in-flight for the Presentation Team for TTV. They are divided into pre-requisites for flipping the switch and follow-up work for the following release.
