Authors: Angie Boggust and Brandon Carter

Explore

Sprint For Gold is an interactive data visualization that addresses the question: How fast must one sprint to win an Olympic gold medal? Explore the history of Olympic sprinting events (100m, 200m, and 400m), and watch athletes of the past compete in real time against the greats of today.

Click here to start exploring Sprint For Gold. For the best experience, we recommend using Google Chrome.

Dataset

We use the Olympic Track & Field Results dataset, which contains the men's and women's medalling times for all Olympic track and field events from 1896-2016.
