With the custom data function you can set additionally data to a block when it gets generated.
You can set a custom data value via the command: /oregen set customdata <ore-config> <customdata> <value>. Not every custom data is compatible with the material of an ore-config. You find which material is required for a custom data on the wiki page of the custom data. Which type of value a custom data needs dependents on the custom data.
