The first story I'm going to create for Team Twine is a tutorial covering the basics of Twine and Twee as they're used by Team Twine in Tilde Town (TTiTT). Right now our documentation is scattered across a number of locations and formats, some of it is only partially relevant to what we're doing here, too technical for beginners, or out-of-date. With the tutorial I propose to distill the basic knowledge needed to start writing IF for Team Twine and present it as simply as possible.

Below is a list of topics I think the tutorial should cover. Feedback and suggestions are welcome.

  1. Joining the Team: creating ttitt directory and first "Hello, World!" twee file, and running build.py
  2. Basic passages and links.
  3. IF writing style
  4. ...-startDescription passage
  5. Object passages and inventory system
  6. Passage markup
  7. Custom styling
  8. Macros (macros were broken as of 2015/1/26 - cut if not fixed)

Watch the TTiTT Web page to see the tutorial develop.
