Bring Zeal to the current workspace and to the front when pressing Alt+Shift+Space #704

Hi,

I'm using Zeal on linux with multiple desktops (under gnome), and it would be nice if the Alt+Shift+Space behaviour could be improved a bit, so that zeal would pop-up each time the shortcut is pressed every time, no matter what. It should jump to the current workspace, even if it's open on another one and it should be raised even if it's open in the background. (As of now, on gnome classic, the tray icon gets highlighted, but the window doesn't raise.)

Also, a bug, but it's related: I've seen that the shortcut is supposed to be used to hide the window, but it doesn't always work. Around 50% of times it has to be pressed several times in order to make the window go away.

Unfortunately, the global shortcut implementation is really glitchy (see #500), and needs a complete rewrite. It also doesn't work with Wayland.

I am considering changing the behaviour to always bring Zeal up, and using something else for dismissing the window (e.g. #153). As for bringing it up to the currently active screen, some people definitely prefer for Zeal to appear in a fixed location, as there were bug reports in the past, when we didn't do that. Perhaps, it could be a configuration option to accommodate everyone.
