The library works with Arduino Uno R4 WiFi, but example need to be modified

The library works with Arduino Uno R4 WiFi.
However, You need to modify the example code because the Arduino Uno R4 WiFi currently does not support Serial.printf function
Also, when you compile, Arduino IDE may show an warning that platform is not supported. but it is ok.

For the example code that works with Arduino Uno R4 WiFi, you can see it in this Arduino Gmail tutorial.

There are some simplified tutorials for other hardware:

What you mentioned showed that you are using the outdated version library.

You should update the library first and try with the examples that provided by that version.

You don't have to modify anything other than the sign in credentials.

All examples work for multi-platform and devices.

MailClient.printf does not use Arduino printf for most platforms except ESP32, ESP8266 and RPI Pico.

It works now. I do not remember why it did not work before. I did a search about Serial.printf and got this post also: https://www.reddit.com/r/arduino/comments/1639hga/extending_the_print_class_on_uno_r4_to_include/
I will check why I got that error before.

Don't be worried.

I just declare the facts because the ESP_MAIL_PRINTF and MailClient.printf was used in library examples since v1.3.0 (three years ago).

By the way, it would be great if you can modify the library.properties file to add "renesas_uno" under architectures property. This will make Arduino IDE stop showing the warning below:
WARNING: library ESP Mail Client claims to run on esp8266, esp32, sam, samd, stm32, STM32F1, STM32F4, teensy, avr, megaavr, mbed_nano, mbed_rp2040, rp2040 architecture(s) and may be incompatible with your current board which runs on renesas_uno architecture(s).
