OSS Characteristics

OSS Characteristics is a very thin wrapper on top of Application Inspector. It analyzes a package and gives details on the major characteristics.

Usage information from --help

USAGE:
Find the characterstics for the given package:
  oss-characteristic --download-directory . --format text [options] package-url...

  -r, --custom-rule-directory    load rules from the specified directory.
  -x, --disable-default-rules    (Default: false) do not load default, built-in rules.
  -d, --download-directory       (Default: .) the directory to download the package to.
  -f, --format                   (Default: text) selct the output format(text|sarifv1|sarifv2)
  -o, --output-file              (Default: ) send the command output to a file instead of stdout
  -c, --use-cache                (Default: false) do not download the package if it is already present in the destination
                                 directory.
  -x, --exclude                  (Default: false) exclude specific files or paths.
  --help                         Display this help screen.
  --version                      Display version information.
