Improvements:

  • Now you can switch to PowerTunnel VPN directly from Quick Settings without needing to open the app

Bugfixes:

  • Fixed an issue when PowerTunnel didn't start from Quick Tile if it was in proxy mode

Known issues:

  • Users report about an incompatibility with the August 2020 security patch on Samsung devices (#29). This issue should be resolved with an upcoming security patch from Samsung.

This release introduces new tricks that works there where PowerTunnel did not work before

  • New HTTPS DPI circumvention method: SNI Spoiling

Improvements:

  • Mix host header value mixes only the last letter by default now. This behavior can be changed in the options.

Known issues:

  • SNI Spoiling doesn't work on Android 9 and higher

This is a long-term support release

New features:

  • Proxy mode. You can use PowerTunnel as regular proxy instead of VPN now. It can be useful in cases when you need PowerTunnel and another VPN connection on the same time. (#9)
    Note: you will have to manually configure proxy server in your apps if you enable proxy mode.

Improvements:

  • Improved overall stability of the application

Known issues:

  • Memory leak in "payload" DPI circumvention method ("Send additional 21KB payload") that leads to high CPU utilization and fast battery drain. Do not use this method until the next version of PowerTunnel for Android is released.
