The typings for the public API are only half-written, with the rough form there but not working properly yet - due to not being able to have partial generic inference (microsoft/TypeScript#10571, microsoft/TypeScript#26242).

Because of this, the default export is currently set with props of type any, which then bleeds through to all further components built with the API, essentially removing all typing.
