We'll discuss this in two weeks. We might have new hardware soon, making a software upgrade unnecessary.

Using lld on linux is not supported yet: rust-lang/rust#39915 (comment)

We are about to get new HW for the CI, then we can upgrade to Debian 11 for the runners. I don't think it is worth the effort to update the runners before.
