Hello,
I'd like to confirm that the BlueSCSI works on the Roland XV-5080.
Tested with a Roland XV-5080 firmware version 1.23.
Tested with a BlueSCSI 1.1a DB25
Although I couldn't find any reference to what's the maximum size an XV-5080 is able to work with, there seems to be a note on Sweetwater that it can go up to 2TB with the firmware v1.10 or newer. (REF: https://www.sweetwater.com/sweetcare/articles/what-largest-capacity-hard-drive-xv-5080-format-roland/), thus I assume that conclusion comes due the fact that the XV-5080 creates a FAT32 partition on each volume.
I created 4 drives of 4GB each, on the LUN0 and assigned them to the SCSI IDs 1, 2, 3, and 4 to avoid conflicts with the ID 0 which is usually reserved for communications with external computers and ID 7 which is the default for the XV-5080. Caution needs to be taken if the BlueSCSI is on a daisy chain configuration as the manual states that is better to don't to that as the computer tends to access the drive constantly and can create a conflict while the XV-5080 tries to access it and the locking up the XV-5080.
Technically, one can go with up to 8 IDs, minus the ID is taken by the XV-5080, then, there are 7 IDs still available, however, for the purpose of testing, and because I'm using a 16GB SD, I only created 4 drives.
The procedure used is as follows:
Hope that helps others looking for a solution for their Roland XV-5080.
Thank you!
