Riot.im app (Andriod) not verifying after update

using Riot.imX 0.91.2-dev from Play store. I got a text that I was ignoring Riot messages, but I wasn't getting notifications. I then noticed that the app wasn't on my home screen, and had been renamed. Upon opening, I was prompted to verify the new session from another existing session, but it isn't working. I've deleted the mobile session and tried verifying from Linux desktop app, riot.im web app on 2 machines, and from the Andriod app, but I get no response from the target session.
This seems like a showstopper bug, but here we are.
