Description(required)

This PR add adjacent lane check for left side and right side of input lanelet.
by implementing the check function, it is possible to check whether there exist any lane at the left side or right side of ego vehicle lane.

This PR is a port from .iv. It is divided into two parts,

  1. route_handler(no change to behavior)
  2. behavior_path_planner (shift_length computation feature)

The feature implement adjacent lanelet search to prevent planner from generating avoidance path that extend towards non-lane areas like below

It also improve drivable area extension by appending lanelet that is nearby obstacle.

new avoidance.param.yaml is needed.

The new method considers the availability of the lane on the left side or right
side of ego vehicle, depending on the position of the obstacles.

Will not generate avoidance path if the adjacent lane is not a lanelet.

The visualization will show the remaining distance between the overhang_pose and
referenced linestring.

I fixed the spell-check in the .iv, but I didn't include them in this PR since it doesn't related to the feature. So, do I need to fix them here?

you can make another pr to fix spell check but please don't include spell check to this PR.

The fix also removes a space character from one of the debug printing function call.

Just to confirm, if I'm not mistaken the in the second image, the vehicle will stop right before the obstacle. Please let me know if it didn't happen in your case.

You can write mathematical formulation with math jax. See an example in readme of obstacle avoidance planner.

Should remove shift_lefngth_computation.png? Even if you wanna use the figure in readme, you'd better use plantuml.
See an example in readme of behavior velocity, obstacle stop, ... (used in most planning packages' readme)

Might be the way I include the equation is wrong (since I'm might be using latex convention that is not supported by mathjax). I can try remove the png and update the equation.

I set motion planning markers off to see clearly for this PR review so vehicle will be stop in front of obstacle.

Yes, this removes fix lanelet expansion in favor of directly insert the lanelet to
extended drivable areas list.

The decision to change the parameter value to 1.0 is made after performing
drivable area experiment at Odaiba areas on 2nd of February 2022 and meeting
between planning control team on 3rd of February 2022.

The new method considers the availability of the lane on the left side or right
side of ego vehicle, depending on the position of the obstacles.

Will not generate avoidance path if the adjacent lane is not a lanelet.
