It would be wonderful to be able to save the downloaded waveform as a PDF file type which is more broadly supported by visualizing and printing applications than SVG.

It would be best to retain the vector type of graphics embedded in the PDF rather than a raster image. The raster is much less compact, and is more limited in the ability of the PDF viewer to adapt to different output devices.
