Can you copy and paste in the ssh terminal?

I was wondering whether or not the extension supports copy and pasting something into the terminal. Currently I am trying to copy my GitHub token to be able to clone content onto my remote machine but it is not pasting the password. In other example when trying to paste things into the terminal it doesn't allow for such. I was wondering if there is a command to do? When ever I try to paste the ^V comes up and that all.
