Developer Mode

  • Android Settings > System > About Retroid Pocket 2+ > Tap Build Number 7 times

In developer mode you enable and disable powerful android options such as unlocking the OEM bootloader. The general user will not need to use any of these options.

Hide images in gallery

Tired of emulators creating tons of images in your picture gallery? Create a .nomedia file. It will hide every image in the same folder (+ subfolders).

Input

The Retroid Pocket 2 Plus has two controller style: Xbox and Retro. If you enjoy the A button (Right) as your select/accept then choose Retro. I'd recommend sticking with Xbox for game and app compatibility.

To set input style or check other input related options: Android setting > Handheld Settings > Input

To enable virtual mouse mode simply hold the Home button for 3 seconds. To disable hold the Home button again for 3 seconds

Screen Noise

Early firmware had a screen noise issue. If you put your ear next to the screen while brightness is set to 20%~60% you can hear a faint hum. OTA update 1.8 fixed this issue

Fix Screen Noise
Android Settings > Handheld Settings > Advanced > Control Screen Drive Noise > Remove High Frequency Noise

Storage Paths

If you're ever needing to type out your folder path on the device:

Storage Path
Internal Storage /storage/emulated/0/
External micro SD Card /storage/sdcard0/
  • External SD card can also appear as /storage/xxxx-xxxx/ (x = random string of numbers). It's best to use /storage/sdcard0/ in this case if your swapping out multiple mirco SD card.
  • When switching portable storages to another micro sd card, make sure to re-add the path as the /storage/xxxx-xxxx/ has changed.

Updater

To update:Android Settings > System > Updater

  • If your having issues checking for updates try changing your WiFi connection and make sure your time zone is correct.
