This is something i recently noticed on my own site, please test and report the findings:

  • GD has a setting in GD > Settings > General (show advanced) > User deleted posts when checked, this should send user-deleted posts to the trash and not permanently deleted; this did not seem to work in my user's case. Users can delete listings from the author page /author/admin/places/ or the details page if the GD > Author Actions block is on the page (ping me if you need this setup)
  • Add a paid GD listing (yes you will need to learn how to do this :) ) and then as a user delete it, both to trash and perminalty by changing the setting mentioned above, check If the created invoice is also deleted (if the invoice is paid it should defiantly not be deleted)

Ping me if any questions or anything not clear

The User deleted posts setting functions correctly as per my testing. When enabled, deleted posts are moved to the trash, while when disabled, they are permanently deleted. I verified this functionality using the GD > Author Actions block.

Could it be possible that the author accessed the /wp-admin, Places tab, and permanently deleted the post from there?
