What

When you use custom color in block editor allow to save it.

Why

So that it could be used in another block.

How

Maybe adding save button in the color section here:

@Robertght suggested it is a bug - one thing can be a bug - that the colors from Customizer are not reflected in editor, I think this is a known one? Another thing is that if you use a custom color in the editor and then you want to use it in another block is it impossible to save, you have to copy paste the code, for example

Thank you for sharing further details!

I'm not sure if this looks more like a Gutenberg core feature request. Pinging @jasmussen for a second look as I couldn't find an equivalent issue on the Gutenberg repo.

Hi, thank you for the ping, thank you for the ticket!

From looking at the first part of it, I definitely agree it'd be nice to be able to save colors like that. In fact the ability to do so is a key part of the "Global Styles" effort which is tracked here. There's a Figma file linked at that ticket which shows how you should be able to create, name, and customize new color swatches, so they show up everywhere you can pick a color. It does look like it won't be in the first version of the Global Styles panel, but it's definitely on the road map.

Until that time, if you want to use a color that is not part of the palette, you have to copy it. But as a small tip, you can select multiple blocks at once (either click and drag to select, or press ⌘A twice to select all) and then apply a custom color across all blocks of the same type:

Hope that helps.
