Gists As Microblogging Engine

This is a broad topic, just throwing something out there to see if you've got some ideas.
Gistpad is such a great tool. Makes the overhead of getting some concepts shareable very minimal.
I want to reduce the overhead of getting from thought to my blog.

My primary solution (since I use hugo) is to build a data driven template that imports gists into a feed.

However, Gistlog is so promising, but so under developed.

Are there any ways you can think of turning Gistpad into an effective microblog feed that could be consumed?
Just a general thought since it makes this so easy to move forward.

Gists by themselves have some problems I see for microblogging in general.

• No nice web rendered page (other than Gistlog which is sorta dead on updates, and not able to be linked to my domain/self hosted)
• No nice social oriented feed of my posts.
• GitHub still doesn't really provide a title mechanism.
• Uploading images or anything else become problematic last time I tried.
