Can I please crop from the quick access panel?

I crop almost every photo I edit, so naturally I tried adding it to the quick access panel. Unfortunately, you can't add the guided, locked-aspect-ratio cropping tool to the panel. It only serves as a shortcut, requiring a couple more clicks to get into cropping mode. You can add up/down/left/right sliders, but they are not locked to the selected aspect ratio.

A button I can add to the quick access panel that toggles cropping mode.

Alternatives

Lock the up/down/left/right crop sliders to the selected aspect ratio. I could work with that.

why not simply define a shortcut e.g. c for cropping?

Thanks for the idea! I feel dumb for not thinking of it. However, it only works if you have a normal tab with the full cropping module selected. With the quick access panel selected, you don't get the cropping guides.

Works for me, and has for a long time, but I think I manually adjusted the shortcut after initially assigning it via keyboard mapping,

In the Shortcuts tab of the global preferences, navigate to processing-modules > crop and click on it to show the assigned shortcuts. Edit your shortcut to have element 'show' and action 'toggle' if it is not already set that way.

Note that pressing the shortcut key will switch you away from the QAP, as there is currently a technical limitation in the code that the module itself needs to be active and open to show the crop box. It would be nice if we could e.g. click on the module name in the QAP to toggle the module's on-image controls without leaving the QAP (useful for tone equalizer and rotate/perspective as well).
