This firmware doesn't include the oupgrade utility, so we'll need to manually install the firmware. The procedure is very similar to the Manual Firmware Installation instructions in the Onion Documentation.

This page could do with a warning, that if you upgrade to 23.x using these instructions, and don't have available a dock with usb-serial (I only have the power dock), then you're going to be quite stuck very shortly! (Is there a way to untangle this, now that I've upgraded and can't ssh, webui or usb-serial into the thing?)

Hi @castaway the user is root so the command should be: ssh root@192.168.3.1

Tested and working on 23.05.3 20250205, see below. We'll add an article on connecting with SSH just to make it easy to reference, tracking it in #205

Even with root@ it times out :(

For future reference, this timeout issue was only seen when using the termux app on an Android phone.

I flashed the "http://repo.onioniot.com.s3.amazonaws.com/omega2/images/openwrt-23.05/onion_omega2p-23.05.3-20250205.bin" version to my omega 2 plus, and I added cp210x module but with USB there is no /dev/ttyUSB0

anyway the wifi is enabled and I connected and I have IP: 192.168.3.156 and gateway 192.168.3.1

ok, I will try via http, error unable to connect, some help?

@ZiTAL What hardware are you using? Were you able to connect over serial before the firmware upgrade?
Please try connecting with SSH instead.

I burned the board inserting 12V, my failure, anyway I'm moving to orange pi zero, thank you
