JabRef version

Latest development branch build (please note build date below)

Operating system

Windows

Details on version and operating system

Windows 11 21H2 and JabRef 5.7--2022-06-13--d241606

Checked with the latest development build

  • I made a backup of my libraries before testing the latest development version.
  • I have tested the latest development version and the problem persists

Steps to reproduce the behaviour

  1. Create a new library (I used the biblatex mode)
  2. Create a new article
  3. Enable "Normalize date" in "Save actions" via library properties
  4. Enter 2000/2010 at Date field using GUI
  5. Save the library

Then, the date is truncated into 2000.
If "Normalize date" is disabled (by skipping the step 3), the date is saved as 2000/2010.
A range of dates such as 2000/2010 should be saved as it is entered after "Normalize date."
